As the company was growing, Mitchell Baldwin Jr, also known as MJ, was learning the ins and outs of the business. While most kids were playing video games, MJ was sitting in meetings and auctions with his parents. Because of his innate ability to recognize quality, he assisted his father with bids and purchased his first rental property at the tender age of 11.
As Chief Strategy Officer, MJ consults and provide strategic direction on acquiring new projects and analyzing future opportunities to grow Baldwin Properties. His perspective and insight have positioned the company to reach new heights and make goal-oriented decisions to align with company’s growth track. His job expands beyond strategy but also property management, tenant relations, and property maintenance.
MJ accepted a basketball scholarship and attended the United States Naval Academy for two years before earning his BS in Marketing from the University of Alabama in 2019. Currently, he is working on his MBA with a double major in Entrepreneurship and Project Management at Seton Hill University where he is on track to graduate in May 2021.
As a former athlete, he remains involved as an assistant coach for the Seton Hill Men’s basketball team, providing leadership and moral guidance to the players, as well.
MJ believes it is his civic duty to serve others. He is an avid supporter of many organizations and serves through actions. MJ has been affiliated with the following services and charitable organizations to help make a difference: Young Men’s Leadership Mentoring Program, Kids Journey Camp, Comedian Rickey Smiley Back to School Rally, Member of Midshipman Black Studies Club, Member of the United States Naval Academy 5th Company Volunteer Program, Neighborhood Cleanup.
